Just as in the past, [1] Jurassic Park props have wound up for sale all over the place. Today forum member Dinosaur_Neill and Yvonne point us to a very unique auction. Up for auction on eBay Live! is what’s believed to be Dr. [2] Alan Grant’s hat worn by Sam Neill in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. The hat worn by Sam Neill was appraised to be worth between $800.00 and $1,200.00. Keep in mind [3] the auction ends on December 15, 2006 at 12:00 PM PST.

Okay…I probably would have partook in the auction if I had known about it earlier. That’s a good catch for only around a thousand bucks! However, after reading the fine print on eBay, I found out that the hat may not have been the hat used in the movie. As stated: “This hat is believed to have been worn by Neill in his role as ‘Dr. Alan Grant’ in both the first and third films.” Not sure what they mean by “is BELIEVED to be,” but I hope someone didn’t pay $1,400 for a faker.
