Tim Murphy played by Joseph Mazzello (Simon Birch, Radio Flyer) Grandson to InGen Founder John Hammond and younger brother to Lex Murphy. Very interested in dinosaurs; he not only studied many species but he also had an idolization for Dr. Alan Grant. Tim survived through the T-Rex attack, which left him stranded within the electric Explorer that was entangled in a huge tree. Most memorable would be the 10,000 volt shock that he endured while climbing over the electric perimeter fence, deeming him “the human piece of toast.”

Just as in the past, Jurassic Park props have wound up for sale all over the place. Today forum member Dinosaur_Neill and Yvonne point us to a very unique auction. Up for auction on eBay Live! is what’s believed to be Dr. Alan Grant’s hat worn by Sam Neill in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. The hat worn by Sam Neill was appraised to be worth between $800.00 and $1,200.00. Keep in mind the auction ends on December 15, 2006 at 12:00 PM PST.

Okay…I probably would have partook in the auction if I had known about it earlier. That’s a good catch for only around a thousand bucks! However, after reading the fine print on eBay, I found out that the hat may not have been the hat used in the movie. As stated: “This hat is believed to have been worn by Neill in his role as ‘Dr. Alan Grant’ in both the first and third films.” Not sure what they mean by “is BELIEVED to be,” but I hope someone didn’t pay $1,400 for a faker.
