When Jurassic Park hit the theaters on June 10, 1993 no one expected that the movie would become such a huge blockbuster smash.

On October 4, 1994 Jurassic Park was finally released for the first time on VHS in a 1 box collectors set. The VHS version for 1994 was only available in Full Screen format, not a big shock to many at the time. It wouldn’t be until September 9, 1997, when The Lost-World was released in theaters that people started seeing a special THX Widescreen edition of Jurassic Park.

Jurassic Park was re-released again on October 10, 2000 with a new video cover in anticipation for the first ever DVD release of Jurassic Park.

Soon there after Jurassic Park was released on VHS, a 3 sided Limited Edition LaserDisc was released in widescreen (1.85:1) format only. It was also encoded in Hi-Vision with Dolby Surround Sound for supreme quality on yesterday’s technologies. (Pressed in Matsuhita, Japan)

DVD release

Following the DVD frenzy that spread throughout America in the late 1990s, the long awaited Jurassic Park would finally see a DVD release on October 10, 2000!

The Universal Studios release of Jurassic Park would be far supirior to any LaserDisc or VHS released in the past, not to mention it put other DVD releases to shame.
